This is the wonderful thing about living in the country. We usually do not use addresses just landmarks. I prefer it this way but I do need to pin point the location. anyone know where the old junior high is in Kanab? The tractor pull is behind the Western Legends roundup Headquarters. Look for a brick building and Parry Lodge is across the street.  ( 100 E) . That is what they said.

Tractor pull begins at 9 am after the parade.

The parade at high noon is not for vehicles.

Now we got that straight as best we can.

UPDATE Western Legends in Kanab,UT

CCAMA will be participating in a vehicle parade that takes place at 8 am on Saturday August 29. We will meet at the location of the tractor pull at the old junior high school. Tractor pull begins at 9 am after the parade.

Ok location of the tractor pull and meet up for the 9am parade is as they told me. You can click on the map I drew and it will give you a larger view. The woman at the Western Legend Roundup Headquarters said the location of the tractor pull is behind them. Look for a brick building and Parry lodge across 100 E.  This is the best we could do and I hope it helps. No address available but it is the old Junior High School football field.

Western Legends Round-Up Parade begins at High Noon on Saturday August 29, 2015 at High Noon. This parade has no vehicles in it.

Got it?

What is the Western Legends Roundup?

Things a Good Farmer Knows

  • Always drink upstream from the herd.
  • A bumble bee is considerably faster than a John Deere tractor.
  • Do not corner something that you know is meaner than you.
  • Don't interfere with somethin' that ain't botherin' you none.
  • It is a rule of nature that taking a day off on a farm sets a person back at least a week. (Jane Hamilton)
  • Life is simpler when you plow around the stump.
  • Timing has a lot to do with the outcome of a rain dance.

Panguitch Parade and Tractor Pull 2015

I love a parade, don't you?
Paul and Deborah Moen Riding Tandem
in the Panguitch Quilt Walk festival Parade.
www.facebook.com/ccama

Riding on a tractor can be so much fun. Riding on a tractor in a parade is double the fun, I think. Riding on a tractor in a tractor pull must be triple the fun but we shall get into that further on down the page.
You can click on the pictures to enlarge
them.

I love sitting in that special tractor seat next to my husband. There is nothing like it. And to my surprise I am not the only wife who thinks this way. I saw a few familiar faces two at a time on one tractor during the parade ! I think the wives will agree with me it is a very special experience. You will see them in the video and also see Leroy Brady with his dogs, Shredder and Butch, riding right up there on the engine. I saw drivers waving to the crowds and the crowds waving back with happy smiles. Children held their own bag in anticipation for candy that was tossed to the curbs from parade participants. You couldn't ask for better weather. I know that the weather report hadn't looked very good all through the week. But suddenly there was a change and we enjoyed blue skies and gorgeous expanding white clouds which waited on us till we were done.

This parade is fun because we get to do it twice. We turn around at the end and go back the way we came which allows us to see the folks on the other side of the road and see each other.

Now the Tractor Pull.......

#tractors #anitique #tractor sled # event

The 3 little clouds I saw before the parade kept expanding and when the parade was over well, see for yourself in the photograph above. Big huh? But the day remained dry that was until Paul Moen broke the sled on his second run in the 4000-4500 class. He was the only participant in that class. While Paul Moen got all lined up for his pull he took off and pulled that sled father than anyone had. We all thought, "Wow, Paul's making history !" And then the no pull hand signals were waved and we all sat back down. He tried again and the sled would just not move. Then it began to rain a bit . Watch the video below.

 WATCH VIDEO- Tractor Pull

The day was done for most. the grandstands emptied. The sled was hauled off the track and the sled doctors were at work with exploratory surgery. See below.

Rain or shine, broke or running smooth, it is always a good day when these events come. The men and women and teens who drive these tractors are tough and seem to take things in stride.

Farmers are philosophical. They have learned that it is less wearing to shrug than to beat their breasts.

( click on the pictures to enlarge them)

This is big news. This young man is going to be 14 years old in June and he has won the title of "Tractor Puller of the Year".

Treyson got interested in Tractors 3 years ago. The interest and enthusiasm run in his family through his grandfather, Sheridan Hansen and his father, Kip Hansen.

What does Treyson do when he is not at the tractor pulls? He loves  running and recently ran the mile in just 6.07 minutes!

Here is Treyson with a dedicated team at the Cedar Livestock & Heritage Festival 2014 In Cedar City,UT

"Decide in your heart of hearts what really excites and
challenges you, and start moving  your life in that direction.
Every decision you make, from what you eat to what you do
with your time tonight, turns you into who you are tomorrow,
and the day after that. Look at who you want to be,
and start sculpting yourself into that person.
You may not get exactly where you thought you'd be,
but you will be doing things that
suit you in a profession you believe in.
Don't let life randomly kick you into the adult
you don't want to become." ~ Chris Hadfield

CCAMA In Cotton Days Parade Washington, UT

The beginning of the parade is announced and the moment arrives when you can hear the rumbling of the tractors and see the American flags unfolding and waving in the winds. The long line of CCAMA members came one by one down the hill with their children and grandchildren and dogs riding right up there with them. They smiled and waved as they drove by. It was an inspirational sight to see and a heartfelt patriotic feeling.

Were you there?

The Fun Pull was held at Red and June Salisbury's. We arrived around 9:30 am. The weather was gorgeous and the pull went on under blue skies and a last quarter moon.

Some tractors drove right into Red's from the road and others were
unloaded off their trailers. Everyone weighed in.
